A Prayer

Dear God,

If you give me these pretty clothes from the Louis Vuitton Resort Collection of 2012, I promise to pick them up and take them out to a fine steak dinner.  I will let the shoes and the handbags drink as many glasses of chablis as they want.  I swear to you, Lord, that after we share one portion of apple pie a la mode, I will walk these exquisite garments home and kiss them goodnight.  Unless, of course, the clothes want to come back to my place.  In that case, I will make sweet love to these hats, dresses, shoes, and jumpsuit while listening to Teddy Pendergrass' waterbed classic, "Turn Off the Lights."  In the morning, I will make pancakes with real maple syrup for my new wardrobe and we will talk about a bright beautiful future.  Together.

Oh, lord.  Hear my prayer.

Amen
