The Bourbon Sour

The warm weather is here. Make the most of it. Go outside and soak in the vitamin D. Take a walk. Ride a bike. Work up a sweat. And when all that jibber jabber is said and done, make a cocktail. You’ll be all, “I deserve it!”

The truth is, life is cuckoo and no matter what you did or didn’t do, you always deserve a cocktail.

So, with this fact in mind, I present to you a recipe for a the easy to make Bourbon Sour. It’s tart and impressive and I bet you could even pump up the volume (literally, the volume of ingredients) and pop it in a pitcher. For your guests, of course. You don’t deserve that much! 

Bourbon Sour

Chapter 1 – The Vanilla Simple Syrup
1 cup sugar
1 cup water
1 ½ teaspoons pure vanilla extract

Boil water.
Add sugar and stir until dissolved.
Remove from heat and add vanilla extract.
Let cool.

Chapter 2 – The Drink
2 ounces bourbon
1 ounce lemon juice
1 ounce vanilla simple syrup
Lemon for garnish

Mix it up, serve it on ice, but I warn you. If you do make the pitcher and don't invite people over, you'll end up like this:
