Spicy Shrimp with Raita

If you are an omnivore and want to be in a good mood, make this for dinner. It's fast, it's delightful, it's healthful. Really, that's all the that's important when it comes to food. My job here is done.

Spicy Shrimp with Raita
Adapted from the book Dinner: A Love Story by Jenny Rosenstrach

1 large unpeeled English hothouse cucumber, halved, seeded, and sliced
2 cups plain whole-milk yogurt
¼ cup chopped fresh mint, packed
1 teaspoon ground cumin
¾ teaspoon salt
¾ teaspoon smoked paprika
½ teaspoon ground cumin
½ teaspoon curry powder
A dash of cayenne
A dash of cinnamon
1 ¼ pounds peeled shrimp
1 tablespoon of butter
Chopped cilantro
1 lime, quartered 

Chapter 1
Mix the first four ingredients together in a bowl. Cover and refrigerate.

Chapter 2
Mix together the next six ingredients. 
Sprinkle spice mixture over shrimp and stir.
Melt butter in a large skillet over medium-high heat.
Add shrimp to pan and sauté 5-7 minutes until done.
Remove from heat.
Garnish with cilantro and serve with lime, raita, and Nan bread or pita.
